Poor policy

First, I'd like to tell you that I am a Korean War Vet serving in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955.Approx. 18 months ago I purchased a BBQ Grille at Lowes for $850.I was told by the salesman that if I was a veteran I could receive a 10% discount. Ileft for home and returned with my DD214. That was not sufficient as I had to have my Florida Drivers license re-issued with a letter "V" indicating a veteran. I did this and my veteran's discount was allowed. This past week I attempted the purchase of a refrigerator at Lowes and assumed my veterans discount would be approved as before but I was told that a new policy was in effect and my Drivers license with the "V" was not approved for any discount. The salesman gave me a sheet that depicted a series of Veteran Identification cards that would be required to obtain any discount. I then went to the Veterans Administration located in Port Charlotte to inquire on the availability of said Veterans Identification Card . I was told that I would have to fill out the required forms to apply for the I.D. card whish are soley for V.A. Patients I do not use any of the V.A.Patient benefits as my former employer supports my Health Insurance Program and I feel other veterans have a greater need than I for any health care proved by the Gov't. I was also told that there was no assurance that my request would be approved. I left the V.A. perplexed over this situation that Lowes has adapted. I felt that Lowes has dropped the ball for all veterans ,young and old , abled and disabled and should revisit their present policy considering all veterans not just those requiring healthcare.
